On November 24-25 (Wednesday to Thursday) the Department of Economic History at Lund University, Sweden, will host a Frontier Research in Economics and Social History (FRESH) meeting. The goal of FRESH meetings is to gather researchers to present ongoing, especially early-stage, research in an environment especially focused on constructive feedback and support.
This meeting has the theme ‘innovation’. The keynote speaker will be Alessandro Nuvolari, Professor of Economic History and Director of the Institute of Economics at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa, who specializes in the role of science and technology in the development of economic growth.
We have welcomed papers from a broad range of methodologies, and especially welcome papers which are connected to the theme of innovation and deal with topics such as:

- organizational innovation
- agricultural innovation
- patents and other institutions
- artistic creativity and innovation
- entrepreneurship
- new (innovative) methods of production
Practicalities
The meeting is planned to be in-person.
We will have contingencies for virtual options if meeting in-person becomes impossible for participants. However, we ask that you plan to be in attendance in Lund so everyone can have the benefit of your presence during breaks and during dinner.
We will have a group dinner on Wednesday 24 November after the days’ presentations.
Presenters will each have about 30 minutes, with a 20 minute presentation and 10 minute discussion period.
